Chilliwack Hospice Society

Although Sunday, May 27th was a cool and cloudy day, 145 ‘hikers’ came to Townsend Park to take a hike … for hospice. We welcome those hikers to return for our 2008 Hike for Hospice!

We are pleased to announce over $45,000.00 was raised! These proceeds will enable us to continue with our mission to support individuals and families during the dying and grieving process. With the scheduled fall opening of the long-awaited 10-bed Cascade Hospice residence, there will be an increased need for our programs and services.

Not only does the Hike help us financially, but it also provides awareness about our various services which include grief support, companionship, hospital and community visitation, bereavement support, volunteer training and a resource library. All these services and educational programs are offered free of charge to the citizens of our community.

The success of the hike was made possible with the combination of the many willing volunteers, generous businesses and energetic walkers who gave their support.

On behalf of the Chilliwack Hospice Society, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for everyone who participated in or contributed towards the 2007 Hike for Hospice!
